Franklin D. Roosevelt was an avid collector and enthusiast of model ships from an early age, and a lifetime honorary member of the Society.  Before becoming the New York State Governor, he personally re-rigged and restored the 100-year old model of the USS Constitution that was his favorite.  Visit the FDR Presidential Library for more information on his 400-ship collection.
